I married John Fewell III nineteen years ago and I had my three "Ciccarelli girls" and one son from a second marriage.
We have seven grandchildren, all of whom still live in good ole Belle Glade. Wayne is retired and lives in Silver Springs, Florida.
The oldest grandaughter, Stacy Alston, is attending University of Florida in Gainesville, Fl., and the oldest grandson, Matthew Alston, is attending Florida State University in Tallahassee, Fl. Jesse has three grandchildren and two great grandchildren. After I finished high school, I went to work for "Western Union" for approximately 10 years, they began to faze out and I changed jobs and went to work at Florida Sugar Corp.
for two years, then to work for "The Quaker Oats Company" as Purchasing and Distribution Supervisor, where I stayed for 23 years. Since that time Jesse and I have done lots of traveling and still do. I am very interested in church, genealogy and computers.
I do remember most of my classmates and cherish the memories of "growing up in the glades." I do have an obsession that some of you may be able to help me with. I married Raymond Alston in 1953, a year before I graduated from BGHS.
That's the reason for the listed name as Laverne Alston. We were divorced in 1977 after 25 years of marriage.
Raymond and I have three children; Dink is superintendent at A.
DUDA & Sons; Dale owns and operates Alston Management & Comptroller for Hill Enterprises; Lisa is office manager for Knight Management. Jesse has one son, Wayne, who was a letter carrier for the post office in Belle Glade for 24 years.
I was widowed by Class of 1962 graduate Jon Ciccarelli.
We had three daughters - ages 5, 3, three months - when Jon died in a highway accident.
Regretfully, I did not graduate with my class and would love to fill in the blank time spaces by seeing all of them.
As we age things that seemed unimportant when we were young return with a sense of urgency and realization that everything in life is important and that we didn't know it all at those younger ages.
